What a strange week. It took me a while to update this blog because I started the week on a very sad mood. I had the blue to not being able to communicate. I understand pretty much everything of what people say, but sometime I have a hard time expressing exactly what I want. Words don’t always come easily. It his very frustrating to have to rely on a somewhat imprecise synonym of the word you want to use. Natalie and Lisa tried real hard to cheer me up, but without success.

Moreover, I was a bit stressed out for the first interview I had to made. For an assignment about the water tower of Belleville currently being refurbished, I had to ask some question to a city official. In English, of course.

Everything went back on track Thursday. It started with some news from Canon. My lens is repairable for only 250$. That is great! Later on that day, Community Press, a small paper distributed weekly in central Ontario, emailed me to let me know that they would buy me a picture I submitted earlier this week. My first published picture!

When I went to the convenient store the next day to get the paper, I had a surprising surprise. My picture was played on the front page! Aaron, who was waiting in the car, did not miss the opportunity to shoot my smile!

Quelle étrange semaine! J'ai pris un certain temps avant de mettre à jour mon blog, car la semaine a bien mal commencé. J'avais le cafard de ne pas pouvoir communiquer à ma guise. Je comprends pratiquement tout ce qu'on me dit, mais il m'arrive d'avoir de la difficulté à exprimer exactement ce que je veux dire. Les mots ne viennent pas toujours facilement. Il est très frustrant d'avoir à s'en remettre à un synonyme plus ou moins exact du mot que l'on veut utiliser. Natalie et Lisa ont essayé bien fort de me faire sourire, mais sans succès.

De plus, j'étais plutôt anxieux à l'idée de faire ma première entrevue. Pour un devoir sur la tour d'eau (water tower) de Belleville présentement en réparation, j'avais à poser quelques questions à un responsable municipal. En anglais, bien sûr.

Tout est revenu à la normale jeudi. J'ai d'abord eu des nouvelles de Canon. Ma lentille est réparable pour seulement 250 $. Excellent! Plus tard dans la journée, Community Press, un petit journal distribué une fois par semaine dans le centre de l'Ontario, m'on envoyé un courriel pour me dire qu'ils allaient acheter une photo que je leur est soumis plus tôt dans la semaine. Ma première photo publiée!

Lorsque je me suis rendu au dépanneur le jour suivant pour me procurer une copie du journal, j'ai eu une agréable surprise. Ma photo a été jouée en une! Aaron, qui m'attendait dans la voiture, n'a pas manqué l'opportunité de photographier mon sourire!
