Next Thursday, we will be packing up to Peterborough, an hour and a half from Belleville. We will be going to cover the COSSA (central Ontario) track and field meeting. It is the second highest level of competition for high school. Actually, it is the qualification for the most important meet (entire Ontario). The fun part is that we are covering Belleville area schools for the Intelligencer (should I repeat the this is the Belleville daily paper?). The pictures for the front page and the first sport section page are up for grab for the best of us. They should publish two pictures, maybe more. I wonder if mine will be selected. |

Hi, I was in the same program this past year, except the full 2 year program. Are you enjoying it thus far? Are you finding many interesting things to shoot in Belleville? More importantly, are Frank and Doug teaching you anything? :)
Anyway, have a good time in Peterborough next week, make sure to take some time to explore the city, there are a ton of interesting characters to shoot there. ps. While in Doug's class watch how many times he says "mmmkay?" The amount will astonish you! During one class last semester we were sitting there keeping track of how many times he used the term, and in a 2 hour class he managed to say it 178 times. :) Have a good one, and keep shooting! (Sorry to hear about your 16-35mm, I just cringe at the thought of one being broken.) Re: This is becoming serious / Cela commence à être sérieux

Aeris: This is a small town, but this is a busy town compared to a small town in Quebec. It is amazing how many high school sports game/meeting is going on! Frank and Doug are so extraordinary! They are like an old couple ;)
How could I not notice Doug’s famous “mmmmkay” and “ok class?” :) Peterborough is actually tomorrow (may 19), not next week ;) Did you find a job in a related field? And by the way, I’m curious: how did you find my blog? Darkspy: C’etait pas mal prevue ;) Re: This is becoming serious / Cela commence à être sérieux

I just checked out your shots. Nice tight compositions and great depth of field! My favourites are photo 1 & photo 4. So, how did you like shooting track? I've never shot track, but I found sports to be one of the toughest genres to shoot. I prefer the social documentary style.
And no, I'm not shooting for the summer (I needed a job that actually paid.) :) Though, I make it a point to go out atleast once a week on a day off to try and build up my portfolio and uncover some stories where I'm currently living. Also, I found your blog when I was searching for a fellow student's portfolio on google and I just had to say hello. :) Trackbacks
